Oh trip to Shreveport La

Last weekend we had to head to Shreveport La bc Alex's cousin Jason pasted away. 18 months ago Jason found out he had cancer on his tongue, he had a big chunk of his tongue taken out and every body thought he was going to be ok but things tool a turn for the worse and the cancer came back. Jason has two adorable daughters Caroline and Hannah, its very sad. But in light of the sadness we tried to make sure Alli had a good time on a 7 hour car ride. Here is our tale... haha

Shakespeare in the Park:Romeo & Juliet

Last Saturday Alex, Alli, Bennie, Vicki, Lance and I went to see Shakespeare in the park.. It was so fun at lest I thought maybe now for the rest of the group ha. I have always loved Shakespeare we I was younger I could recite so many lines from so many different Shakespeare plays... But Romeo and Juliet has been one of my favorite plays and I love the Leo movie ha. Anyway the play was at the botanical gardens outside, I didn't think their would be so many people but wow were the lots maybe around 400-500... the play was very good the girl that played Juliet was great but the play was around 3hrs long and we didn't realize that and after 2 1/2hrs Bennie was not having anymore, she started SCREAMING and we had to jet before we were KICKED out ha. So we left like 15mins before it was over darn kids hehe. Here's some pictures...

Lemonade Time

Last Thursday Alli asked if we could make Lemonade... So we bought lemons a few two many.. we have like 10 left over. Then we made lemonade it turned out so yummy, we cooked 1 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar on stove till sugar melted, then pour over ice and add 3 cups of water. Let chill for 30min-1hr and serve...

The special pitcher we got just for the lemonade

Alli was trying so hard to squeezed the lemon juice out and after it was all done Alli asked if I would cut some lemon slice and put in the pitcher like the professionals do.. ha she's so funny

Kitchen has counter tops... almost done ha

So we got our extra special counter tops put in and boy are they gorgeous. They look like the night sky, the reason I love they sooo much is bc the are VERY VERY GREEN. They are called ECO by Cosentino. ECO is made of 75% recycled content composed of post-industrial or post-consumer materials and is bound by an environmentally friendly resin which comes in part from corn oil. ECO by Cosentino is also an ideal substitute for natural or engineered stone. Eco is composed of:
•mirrors salvaged from houses, building and factories
•glass from windshields, windows and bottles
•granulated glass from consumer recycling practices
•porcelain from china, tiles, sinks, and toilets
And this is what our kitchen looks like now!!!!
BEFORE.....
Sink side about to cut hole for sink
Cutting hole for sink... what a mess ha there was dust every where.
After...
And after...
Eco up close...

Schools out for SUMMER!!!!

this was Alli last week of kindergarten, and today her LAST day where has the time gone. Before I know it Bennie will be in school.... So Alli has been working hard at swim team but she is still not ready for her meet, she has a meet coming up on Monday but I think she will have to cheer her buddies on again. She is now almost able to swim all the way across doing freestyle, but her back stroke is hilarious her feet and hands are on top of the water but her butt is as far to the bottom of the pool as she can get. Also she is learning how to dive off the block and she still just jumps in almost like a belly flop...
